Fast and furious

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Oh man, I just watched The Fast and the Furious and I’m so pumped I wanna go knife someone or drive their head into the floor. *stab stab*

Other than that I’m just peachy. Depressed but otherwise peachy.

Maybe I should go learn how to drift and then shoot at passersby while I’m drifting.

    Damn those action movies.

    Good hunting.

Accident

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

So I just got home, but before that let me tell you about the accident that happened.
*cue flashback*

I was on my way back in a cab that picks me up everyday. We were using the newly opened section of the Jelutong Expressway, the one that intersects Macallum Street Ghaut. The traffic light was green, so we went. Then, a motorbike which was supposed to stop at the junction sped across and WHAMMO! Collision. Windscreen shattered, the kind you see when a head hits a windscreen in those commercials on TV, tyre punctured and fender more than just a bender. The motorcyclist got thrown off a few feet and was writhing in pain, j/k he just had scratches and possibly some bruising. Anyway, in less than 2 minutes, there were all these people from various workshops on motorbikes at the scene. Just like ants, and the honey is the unfortunate road collision. It’s like every workshop within a 2km radius knew about it in less than 5 minutes.

Ironically, after watching what happens when you don’t take care on the road, especially for motorcyclist, they just sped off in their usual daredevil riding. Go figure. Anyway, I got back safe and sound but boy was the car messed up.

Its not really surprising if you think about how Malaysian motorist are. For shaaaaame.

Birds and crotches

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

I wonder, what anime would feature birds flying out of a man’s crotch?! What ghastly anime crator would want to show kids birds popping out of a male’s genitilia?? GENITILIA?! If you’re wondering where I came up with such notions, please watch this. Watch for about a minute or so, then you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Looks like I haven’t done my assignments yet, and it still hasn’t decomposed yet. Damn. Looks like its the fireplace for me (assuming I actually have a fireplace)

Just another lazy afternoon

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

A lazy afternoon with nothing to do except write 16 pages worth of summaries for Persuasion. I find myself wondering why people would want to analise literature. Aren’t they content enough with just reading and finding out what happens to who at what time and where? Noooo… they just have to find out the "hidden" meanings behind the text. Jeez. While trying not to sound like a complete simpleton, don’t you think literature should just be read, enjoyed and appreciated without having to go through tedious tasks of analysis and summaries? If everyone had to do this for every piece of writing they read, the world would be a most unread place indeed.

Back to my summary, I find it impossible to write a good summary. Language wise, anything I write will be sub-standard compared to Jane Austen’s text, so I find myself wasting minutes just thinking of a synonymous word that can top the one in the novel. Then, having to actually string a good sentence that doesn’t make me look like a complete moron relative to the novel takes me even more time. Sigh. This was not what I had in mind when I signed up for literature.

Now I shall go procrastinate and let my summary decompose. I have lost all will to work.

A genius he is!

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

So my friend IMed me asking me to comment about a certain dispute between a word, and in doing so I came across a charming little rant corner by someone I do not know. The contents were critical, witty, cruel, insulting and bursting with the stereotypical American redneck archtype. Right now I don’t know whether to love him or want to beat him up and a dark alley. While some blogs worth applauding like "People who matters more than JJ & Rudy", other post like "Condoms are an insult to manhood" make me wish he’ll one day catch a horrible STD and suffer impotence. By now I’m sure you’re eager to read his blogs (due to mention of condoms) so here it is. Special mention to his second June 21st entry.

I must now contemplate the gravity of my inner thoughts in my Garden of Sorrow.

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

I made spaghetti on Friday. Yes, people I can cook! Though the sauce was way too watery…
Spaghetti

.
Anyway, nothing much to tell about what I’ve been up to, except that i’ve applied for a job at Starbucks. I hope I get the job. I need to start earning wages with all the money I’ve been spending…

It’s all over

Sunday, June 11th, 2006

My holidays is at an end. Oh woe is me… That means classes will resume and work will pour on to me like never before. Education really bites.
Yesterday, Wai Yin, Jer Yang and Li Tjun stayed over for a night and we watched Silent Hill. Creepy movie, though the scare effects were dampened by the poor resolution of the movie. There were acid spitting zombies, a pyramid headed man that rips the skin of his victims, child-witch burning and lots of blood and gore. Yup, the stuff of a good Friday night horror movie. On Saturday, we had our usual D&D session minus Chern who so turns out to have a cough.
Today, I just lazed around until 3pm and then proceeded to do a half assed job for my economics paper. And now I still have a law paper to complete by Tuesday, but I guess a leopard will never change it’s spots and procrastinators will never do today what they can do tomorrow. It’s times like these I sort of wish I was still back in school. I want the friends I had back in school and the freedom I have in college, but as a wise man said, we can’t have everything we want in life. But I certainly I want as much as I can get.

It was a nice birthday

Monday, June 5th, 2006

Today wasn’t bad. I watched 2, well one good movie and my connection lasted for more than 3 days. Huzzah! Anyway, as always I usually post my views on the movies I watched, usually. Today I watched two movies, Daisy, a Korean romance/action movie and X Men 3, a well you know. Guess which I enjoyed more.
If you said X Men you don’t know me well enough. While not being a bad movie, I simply could not accept alternate universe characters of X Men, save Ultimate X Men. Halle Berry is too much of a limelight whore, wanting more lines and parts for Storm, the directors gave her what she wanted, only to be redundant and a transparent attempt at seeming more "important" than she really is. The action in the movie were rather nice, but it kinda ends there. Piotr Rasputin a.k.a. Colossus did not have a Russian accent as far as I could tell, since he only had one line. Oh, Rogue didn’t have a Southern accent either, and apparently Juggernaut is British. Overall, the movie deserves a B, and I hope they don’t make another, which is kinda hinted in the last scene.
Anyway, on to Daisy. Well, I can’t say much except I alsolutely adore this movie, but that’s probably because I’m a hopeless romantic (I hope I used that phrase in the right context). It’s basically a warped kind of love triangle, with GUNS! The thing I like about movies like this is they don’t sex things up too much like Western romance movies, or even in comic-book-turned-movie movies, hint hint. This romance movie however doesn’t have too many cheesy love lines, or maybe I’ve just overlooked them because of the Korean eye candy XD. This movie is gonna stick with me for a while, which marks it as an A in my book.
